RECIPE FOR COLD BREW COFFEE (AGNES)

Looking for a refreshing coffee to kick off the day but displeased with the acidity and bitterness of regular coffee? Cold brew comes to your rescue! Here is a simple recipe for everyone to enjoy your own cold brew coffee at home!


Ingredients
- whole coffee beans
- filtered water

Equipment
- coffee grinder
- jars with lids
- cheesecloth
- fine-mesh strainer

Instruction
1. Grind the coffee beans into a coarse grind. 

2. Combine the ground coffee and water in the  jar. 

3. Stir to incorporate. 
- Make sure all of the coffee gets wet. 

4. Steep the coffee overnight in the fridge. 
- Time for coffee to be refrigerated will be different as it is the independent variable of the experiment.

5. Strain the coffee concentrate. 
- Slowly pour the coffee concentrate through the strainer with cheesecloth placed on top.
- Prevent squeezing or pressing the coffee grounds in the cheesecloth.

6. Transfer to the cold brew to a clean jar for longer-term storage.

7. Make your iced coffee. 
- To serve, fill a glass with 1 cup ice cubes. Pour 1/2 cup the cold brew over the ice, add 1/2 cup cold water, and stir to combine, coffee cream and milk are optional. 

8. Enjoy!
